Now that you have setup your blog and you are able to log into your dashboard, you should immediately, without any pause, upload the Essential Plugins. These Plugins are the basic ones and will make it much easier for you to handle and take complete control of your Blog. Since all you have to do is click a couple of times to grab and activate each Plugin, you shouldn’t take too long. Please do this before anything because you will need every single one of these Plugins, they are the essentials. Here is a list of the necessary Plugins, you must spell them exactly how they are named so your search would be more accurate.

By the way, if you are not sure, the place to begin would be where it says “Plugins” on the left of the “Dashboard”, click on “Add New.”  Here, if you want to learn further about managing pluglins.

After you have downloaded these plugins, then you must do two more things. First you must secure and detonate your built-in Anti-Spam program Akismet. Very simple, if you follow these instructions then you will obtain your API Key and copy-and-paste it, in the place it belongs. Simple as that, WordPress makes it simple for you.

Now for the most difficult but most enjoyable time you will have in preparing a Blog. As you can see now, every time you click the button on the top left corner “visit site,” you have the default “Theme” which is very small in width and and very ugly. This will change now and you will enter a new world and you will enjoy the confusion.

There’s a few things that you will have to decide before you click on that “Add New Themes” button and that will be nothing! Just click on that button and have fun with all the themes, “Activate” all the ones that interest you and would be more beneficial for You and only You. This will take quite bit of time and you will come to some conclusion. You might even begin working with one particular theme for a few weeks and then jump over to another. The most important thing is to make up your mind on how many sidebars you would like to have, the design itself, how it’s structured. Also, as you can see on the image above, almost every theme has a an option, like in mine (Simplicity). This is very important because you can add, take away and in turn, change your Theme structure around to your liking. So I suggest you choose a them which has “many” options.  Here’s all the Themes Wordpess has to offer, open up this link on a separate page and take a look at what they have to offer. When you see the ones that interest you then copy their names and place it on the search box which appears after you click on “Add New Themes.” Remember, you can have multiple Themes and jump from one to another! But eventually, you will have to stick with one. Enjoy!

Here’s a link to all the Plugins that WordPress has to offer. Make sure that you choose the ones that are compatible with the latest WordPress Upgrade.
